I hate the Pistons (2-2)
Contrary to the evidence here and below, I don't only update this blog when I come across a bit of press dealing with the best band in Austin, but then again:
there's this, though it's pretty bad and probably isn't worth reading, really
The lazy journalist (it takes one to know one, certainly, and as I am one I feel justified in this assessment) starts by calling Britt Daniel an asshole, albiet in a roundabout way. Yes, that'll get the subject to open up!
By the way, this is where I work now. Tonight I'm heading out to the little park downtown for a little concert headlined by Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks!
Wait, this isn't a dream and I don't live in NYC. Instead, we'll have a classic rock coverband, but I hear they like Creedence, too - so call it a wash.
Back to Spoon, briefly- kind of on my mind, as I just bought tickets for the band's triumphant return at Stubb's, a quality establishment with terrific bbq. Really! This'll be my third time to see Spoon, and the third venue to do so. They'll be up to U2 stadium level in no time, so see 'em while you still can. Gimme Fiction is unbelievably great.
Also unbelievably great: SM - "Face the Truth" and "Get Behind Me Satan" by the White Stripes, naturally. Shop till you drop!
UNRELATED: Eminem at Game 4 = M.J. from Real World Philadelphia. That red headband wasn't doing you any favors, bro.
